eMed Informatics uses an array of technological innovations to link a client’s different clinical information systems. For instance, its DICOM Engine can migrate hundreds of DICOM image example X-ray or CT exams—and integrate them with systems of radiology reading experts, who examine the images in a timely fashion and send them back to the respective medical departments.

This facilitates faster and more accurate service delivery in teleradiology and telecardiology. It is also ideal for healthcare facilities in rural areas with shortage of skilled staff to analyze these images. It integrates its DICOM Engine with third-party radiology reading experts, ensuring their seamless workflow and patient service.

eMed Portal is another innovation of eMed Informatics designed to allow providers to locally inspect the entire longitudinal history of patients on a single platform. The portal holds a centralized repository that stores the diagnostic reports and medical history and brings them to the fingertips of healthcare providers. eMed Informatics also deploys the radConnect tool to allow the repository to gather every bit of data about a patient’s longitudinal history. It also helped Merivale Medical Imaging (MMI) by facilitating the flawless migration of over a million DICOM and HL7 Data to North East Diagnostic Imaging Network (NEODIN)DI-r.

In terms of system integration and workflow optimization, eMed Informatics integrates complex external systems like Meditech and Epic Systems with a client’s existing information systems. Its tools generate appropriate codes to integrate the systems and operate under a single roof. Currently, the firm is also developing a tool dubbed ‘Smart AE Title’, which will allow medical operators to log in once and access all information systems under one roof, eliminating the complexities of multiple logins into PACS, HIS, and RIS.
